Old Point Loma is a part of the Cabrillo National Monument and is open to the public. |
Cabrillo Point or Point Loma overlooks San Diego harbor and has two lighthouses. The old Point Loma (left two pictures)
and the active lighthouse (see above). |
Directions - From I-8 west, take Rosecrans St. west. Turn right on to CA 209 or Cabrillo Memorial Drive to the
National Monument. The active lighthouse is not open to the open public (at least when we were there). The view
of San Diego harbor and the U.S. Naval Air Station on Coronado Island is well worth the effort.
